RN, BSc. & MSc. in nursing sciences. Is a senior nursing professional with over 25 years of experience in psychiatry and geriatric care. She has held roles as a nurse supervisor, lecturer, and research chairperson, and won the 2020 Fikra innovation award for her work in community psychiatric services. Ms. Al Asfoor is also a published researcher and frequent speaker at international conferences.

Dr. Abdulla is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist working in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. He has experience supporting both children and adults with communication difficulties, including speech sound disorders, language delays, stuttering, dyslexia, and communication challenges related to cochlear implants. He works in clinical and educational settings and focuses on making therapy practical, clear, and culturally appropriate. His main goal is to help individuals communicate more effectively in daily life—at home, in school, or in social settings.

Dr. Waiel is a consultant psychiatrist in Bahrain Defense Force Hospital since 2015 and senior lecturer in Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland-Bahrain. He received his Bachelor in Medicine and surgery from Baghdad Medical College in Iraq in 1990. His journey in psychiatry had been started since 1996 when he joined the residency program and got the fellowship of Council of Arab Board in Psychiatry in 2001. He worked in Baghdad-Iraq from 2001-till 2006.

Dr. Charlotte is Head of Department of Psychiatry in the Royal college of Surgeons of Ireland/Medical University of Bahrain & Senior Consultant Psychiatrist Coordinator between Ministry of Health in Bahrain and the Royal College of surgeons in Ireland for organizing and conducting the Diploma of psychological medicine for six years from 1994 till 2000 for training primary health care doctors in Bahrain to encourage early detection of psychiatric problems in primary care sector in Bahrain.

Dr. Feba is affectionately known as ‘The Dr. of the Mind,’ is a distinguished Clinical Psychologist and Head of the Child Development Unit at American Mission Hospital, Bahrain. With over 11 years of experience, she specializes in pediatric mental health and trauma therapy, providing compassionate, evidence-based interventions for children and their families. Her work emphasizes trauma-informed care, resilience, and holistic healing, guided by her faith in Christ.

Dr. Fatima is an experienced clinical neuropsychologist with a PhD in Clinical Neuropsychology. She earned her MB ChB from the University of Basra College of Medicine and furthered her education with a master’s in medical biotechnology and a PhD in Molecular Medicine at the Arabian Gulf University. With extensive expertise in molecular genetics, Dr. Omran specializes in genetic counseling, the diagnosis of chromosomal and genetic disorders, and reproductive genetics.

Dr. Hamed is a senior consultant, an old age psychiatrist, and the head of the department of behavioral medicine at Sultan Qaboos University. He graduated from Sultan Qaboos University and then pursued further training in Old Age Psychiatry in the UK and obtained the FRCPsych. He returned to Oman in 2010 to set up a memory clinic at SQUH, which is responsible for the assessment and management of patients experiencing cognitive symptoms and training medical students and psychiatry residents, and supervising research projects.

She is a member of the National Education Accreditation Committee and Vice president for NHRA Nursing Strategies Committee.She was assistant professor at University of Bahrain in the Collage of Health sciences within Nursing and Midwifery department from 2016 till 2023 Dean of Student at Royal University for Women from 2010 till 2014.Director of Health Med Medical Centre from 2014 till 2022. Served 18years in BDF hospital as Primary Care Adult Nurse-Practitioner.

Dr. Kelly has been Lecturer in Psychiatry at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Bahrain Medical University since 2024. She qualified as a medical practitioner in 2005, having trained at Cardiff University Medical School, UK. She undertook psychiatric training both at the South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and in South Wales. After becoming a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Dr. Kelly specialised in the Psychiatry of Intellectual Disability, working in Learning Disability and General Adult Services. She also provided child and adolescent psychiatric services within schools and outpatient clinical settings.

She have Saudi and Arab Board in psychiatry (certified in 2013). She have a special Interest in trauma-related disorders. Dr. Aysha is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a BSc Psychology and MSc in psychological approaches to health from the University of Leeds. She has experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing psychotherapy to individuals facing a range of mental health concerns. Her work includes conducting Dialectical behavior Therapy (DBT) group skills training and delivering individualized psychotherapy sessions grounded in evidence-based techniques.

Dr. Asya holds bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Bahrain, earned in 2003 with a GPA of 3.26. Over the past 20 years, she has built extensive experience in social services, particularly within the healthcare sector. Since 2014, Dr. Asya has served as Head of the Social Services Department at Salmaniya Medical Complex. In 2024, she transitioned to managing social services in external hospitals. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked as a Communication Coordinator in private hospitals and supervised the employee complaints hotline. Also been involved in providing support in a multidisciplinary clinic for sickle cell patients.

He serves as a Consultant Psychiatrist at Erada and Mental Health Complex in Dammam, KSA, and is a Lecturer of Psychiatry at Alexandria University, Egypt. A pioneer in the Arab region, Dr. Abdel Karim founded and leads the Egyptian Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Program, the first of its kind in the area, and established the DBT Clinic Alexandria.

Dr. Shahenda is co-founded the clinic and, as Deputy Medical Director, was instrumental in establishing and supervising its couple therapy services. As the first Arabic-speaking certified Gottman Couple Therapist, Dr. Khalil provides online therapy to couples across the region. Her role includes assessment, couple therapy, team supervision, and leading educational workshops on healthy marital relationships.

She holds the European Diploma in Radiology, the Saudi Board in Diagnostic Radiology, and an MD from RCSI Bahrain, with additional leadership training from Harvard University. She serves as Vice Chair of the RMS Research Review Board and is actively involved in teaching Saudi board residents, research, and local /international conferences She contributed to a textbook in pediatric neuroradiology and serves as reviewer for BMJ and Oman medical journal.

Dr. Joseph is a Consultant Adult and Addiction Psychiatrist and a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He is the co-founder and medical director of the Valens Clinic in Dubai. He has held leadership and faculty positions at several institutions, including American Hospital Dubai, the American University of Beirut and the University of Sharjah. He is currently adjunct assistant professor of psychiatry at United Arab Emirates University.

Prof. Mona is a professor and head of psychiatry department at Cairo University, professor of psychology, University of London, and an adjunct faculty at the American University in Cairo. She has coordinated international training programs in psychiatry, and individual and group psychotherapy. She has been acknowledged as an international trainer in group psychotherapy and group processes. She has organized several international conferences in the field of psychiatry, and group psychotherapy and group work (Egypt, Italy and Tunisia).

  • Abstracts: Should exceed 250 words, written in Arabic and /or English, and provide a clear outline of the objective, methodology, results, and implications of your research or practice.
