We are excited to announce the First American Mission Hospital Internal Medicine Update Conference, scheduled to be held during 2nd-3rd September 2026 . This event will be honored by the presence of His Excellency Lieutenant- General Doctor Shaikh Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health.
This conference is conducted by the American Mission Hospital in collaboration with Mayo Clinic and organized by Education Plus.

Dr. Areej is an epidemiologist and Head of Surveillance at Kuwait’s Ministry of Health, where she leads outbreak investigations and the national CLABSI reduction strategy. A PhD graduate of UCL, she also teaches biostatistics at Kuwait University, specializing in hospital-acquired infections and Candida auris.

Dr Ali Al-Lawati is a Senior Consultant Nephrologist at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, Oman. He completed his Internal Medicine and Nephrology training at the University of Toronto, followed by fellowships in glomerular diseases, peritoneal dialysis, and pregnancy-related kidney disease.
His main clinical and academic interests include glomerular diseases, and kidney transplantation. He is actively involved in medical education, research, and national kidney-care initiatives in Oman.
