It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to the Bahrain International Conference of Antimicrobial Resistance and Infectious Diseases. This conference is a crucial platform for healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders to come together and discuss the latest advancements in the field of infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance.
At this event, we will have the opportunity to  hear f rom leading experts in the field, engage in informative discussions and share knowledge and insights. The conference will be a great opportunity to network and collaborate with peers f rom around the world, with the aim to develop strategies and solutions to address these critical healthcare challenges.

The theme of this conference, «Antimicrobial Resistance and Infectious Diseases: A Global Challenge,» highlights the urgency of the issue and the need for a coordinated global response. Dr. Faryal is the Head of Internal Medicine Subspecialties and Deputy Director of the Directorate of Internal Medicine at the Royal Hospital, Oman, where she chairs the Infection Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship committees. An honors graduate of Sultan Qaboos University, she completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Minnesota, followed by dual fellowships in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Muna Almaslamani

Dr. Muna is the CEO and Medical Director of Hamad General Hospital, specializing in Transplant Infectious Diseases. A Senior Consultant and Fellowship Program Director, she also serves as a Clinical Professor at Qatar University and an Adjunct Associate Professor at Weill Cornell Medicine–Qatar, leading regional advancements in healthcare quality, safety, and medical education.

Consultant public health, family medicine and epidemiology in ministry of Health-Bahrain (MOH). (Since 2006) Chief of Disease Control Section in MOH. (Since 2010) Leading the case investigation and contact tracing team for COVID 19 in MOH.

Dr. Nahed is an Infectious Diseases Consultant and Head of Infection Control at BDF Hospital, specializing in antimicrobial stewardship and multi-drug resistant organisms. A Dubai Medical College graduate, she holds a Saudi Board certification in Internal Medicine and an RCPI fellowship in Infectious Diseases. She also serves as a microbiology lecturer at RCSI-Bahrain.

Works as a Public Health Doctor at The Public Health Directorate in the Ministry of Health. Mohamed works in disease surveillance, data analysis and epidemiological research in the Communicable Disease Section.
