As the president of the 6th consecutive IMDO conference, I am greatly honored and pleased to welcome you all and express my sincere appreciation for joining us here in the Kingdom of Bahrain and extend a very warm welcome to all of you, in particular our distinguished speakers from the Gulf and Arab states, Europe, and the United States of America . Your enthusiasm and interest in sharing your experience and knowledge with us is immensely appreciated.
The cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and obesity like many other clinical specialties are not only facing challenges arising from the vast development of new technologies, the increasing emphasis on higher standards, guideline based care but also to the ever rising expectations for higher quality and an affordable cost with best effective services.
This is forcing us to reappraise how services should be provided in the future. These changes will no doubt place an increasing demand on our knowledge, skills and competencies. To meet these changes and demands we need to intensify our partnership and cooperation with our colleagues from all over the world.
This conference we hope shall provide a unique opportunity for local, regional and international experts to share their experiences and knowledge gained from their research and clinical practice.With this outstanding scientific program prepared by the Scientific and the Organizing committee and with the presence of this number of internationally renowned speakers and participants I am sure we shall remember this event for many years to come.
